After much heartache and headaches the Committee have come to the decision to cancel this month’s Dressage and Showjumping on the 22 and 23 February respectively.
With the high winds and yet more rain on its way we feel its unfair and potentially unsafe to expect everyone to tow their best friends with the hope of a rosette.
We will move all entries to our March date and also do our best to see if we can fit in another date in between.
We sincerely hope that you understand our decision at this time.

Many of you will already know the stories of two amazingly courageous local horsey girls.
Dressage diva Adele Edwards, bravely continues her monumental struggle with her aggressive cancer and lovely local tiny trotter Grace has endured an almost life long battle with a brain tumor.
Adele recently set up Adele’s Princess Wish Foundation to help Grace and children like her with essential care and equipment to make a real difference to their quality of life.
For our part Wrekin North Riding Club Committee have decided that the proceeds from the January 2020 Showjumping at Hilton Park will be donated to Adele’s inspiring and wonderful Foundation.
Please help us to support this most worthy cause. Many people who are unable to attend have asked if they can donate through the Club. Of course this is possible. Call Di on 07973 624726 for the options.

The Committee regrets to inform Members and Guests that tomorrows Open Show has had to be cancelled. Following the latest ground inspection this afternoon, the Dressage League and Clinics today and a detailed review of the weather forecast for the next 24 hours the Committee reluctantly took the decision that, in the best interests of the safety of competitors and their horses and ponies, the Ground conditions were going to be inappropriate for competition tomorrow.
The Show Jumps are being left up tonight and should anyone wish to do clear rounds this is likely to be between 10.00 and 12.00 on Sunday subject to weather and will cost £3 per round.
Please note that, following a very successful 2019, a substantial number of our jumps will be replaced by new Jump 4 Joy Wings and Poles ready for the 2020 Season and the old ones are being sold off (see Andrea Edge’s post on Facebook). These can be viewed, paid for and collected tomorrow.

Trophy Show 18th August
Following a further ground inspection and the latest weather forecasts we are delighted to confirm that the August Trophy Show on Sunday 18th August will be able to go ahead as planned. The good old Stirchley Showground drainage, a little long awaited sunshine and a good drying breeze have been able to overcome the dreadful weather of recent days. Somebody loves us! See you there for lots of fun and games.

Equine influenza-an important change from previous event procedures
Wrekin North Riding Club reminds all Members and Guests of the Club Rules:-
Rule 23 Horses which have been in contact with an infectious disease must not attend any event. Current vaccination certificates and passports may be asked for.
All participants at club events are required to bring their relevant Passports with them for all entered horses and have them available for inspection by the Show secretary or their representative.
In view of the recent developments in the equine influenza outbreak the Committee requires ALL passports to be presented to the event secretary BEFORE unloading at the event. In order to make operations as smooth as possible electronic copies of passports including vaccination pages can be sent to the Club secretary in advance of the meeting but originals must be brought on the day and be available for inspection if required.
The Committee will continue to monitor the up to date position and latest advice on the outbreak and reserve the right to modify the Club’s requirements at any time should they deem it necessary.
All entrants to Wrekin North Riding Club Events are strongly advised to check latest position on the web site immediately before travelling to any event.
