Ring 2 – Working Hunter & Ridden Showing

Open to riders of any age, however must be the correct size for their horse/pony.
Juniors and Seniors are judged separately in all show-jumping classes.

No horse/pony under the age of 4 to be ridden in a class.

Previous trophy winning combinations in Class 7; riders in class 11 and horses in class 12, may compete in these classes, but points will not be awarded towards the trophy again.

Qualifiers are listed within their corresponding classes.
Qualifier Information


Starting 9:30am prompt –

Clear Round

Fences set to approximately 1’6” (45cm). Entries taken at the Secretary’s desk ONLY, £3 per round. Last entry taken at 10:45am. Jumps may be changed if time allows, but must be put back to original height once round is complete.


Classes to start 10:30am prompt –

Class 7 – Beginners Working Hunter

Fences 1’9” (50cm) max. No fillers or back rails included. Open to riders on or off the lead rein. Qualifier for TSR & BBA

Class 8 – Novice Working Hunter 

Fences 2’3” (70cm) max. Small fillers included. Qualifier for TSR & BBA

Class 9 – Intermediate Working Hunter

Fences 2’6” (75cm) max. Variety of fillers included. Riders from class 7 may not compete in this class. Qualifier for TSR & BBA


Working Hunter Championship

All 1st and 2nd placed competitors from classes 7-9 are invited to present themselves for our Working Hunter Championship. This class is free to enter, and both the chosen Champion and Reserve will receive a large rosette and their photo on our Champion’s page.


In-Hand classes not to start before 12:30pm

Class 10 – Ridden Best Turned Out

Excluding any lead rein or first ridden competitors. Qualifier for TSR & BBA

Class 11 – Novice Rider

Open to genuine novice/nervous riders. Excluding riders aged 12years and under. Exhibitors will not be expected to canter in a group, but should for their individual display. Snaffle bridles only. Qualifier for TSR & BBA

Class 12 – Ridden Novice Horse/Pony

Open to genuine novice/nervous horses or ponies. Exhibitors will not be expected to canter in a group, but should for their individual display. Qualifier for TSR & BBA

Class 13 – Best Riding Horse/Pony

Open to horses and ponies of any age or breed, shown in any state. Qualifier for TSR & BBA

Class 14 – Best Veteran

Open to horses or ponies aged 15 years or over. No spurs are to be worn. No galloping to be shown. Qualifier for TSR & BBA

Class 15 – Best Show Hunter

Open to any horse or pony capable, or likely to be capable of carrying it’s rider over a full days hunting. Should be plaited. Qualifier for TSR & BBA

Class 16 – Best Mountain & Moorland

Open to any pure bred Mountain & Moorland horses or ponies. To qualify for Equifest, ponies must be registered with their respective Pure Bred Societies of Connemara, Dales, Dartmoor, Exmoor, Fell, Highland, New Forest, Shetland, Welsh A,B,C and D. Qualifier for Equifest & BBA

Class 17 – Best Coloured

Open to any broken coloured horse or pony. May be plaited, hogged or traditional. Qualifier for TSR & BBA

Class 18 – Best Show Cob/Cob Type

Open to tradition or show cob types. Can be shown plaited, hogged or traditional. Excluding M&M. Qualifier for TSR & BBA

Class 19 – Best Heavy Horse (Ridden or In-hand)

Open to any aged, pure-bred heavy horse breed including Shire, Clydesdale, Suffolk and Percheron. 
The two highest placed handlers will be eligible for our Overall In-Hand Championship in Ring 3.


Ridden Showing Championship

All 1st and 2nd placed competitors (excluding handlers from class 19) from classes 10-19 are invited to present themselves for our Ridden Showing Championship. This class is free to enter, and both the chosen Champion and Reserve will receive a large rosette and their photo on our Champion’s page.
