The 2019 Committee

Chairperson – Peter Morris

HI. I’m Pete the Photo man. I don’t ride (at the moment) and apart from the last couple seasons I have been the photographer at Wrekin North for more than 20 years. I was first invited to the shows by Club Secretary Julie’s sister Sharon who herself  is a former club chairperson. That was back in the days before digital photography or Facebook. Wrekin North is and has always been very close to my heart and I have found many friends at the club. I look forward to working with the new committee to bring this club back to the position it once held.

Vice Chairperson – Dave Gwilliam

I’m rejoining the Committee after a 5 year absence, having previously served for 18 years filling various posts.  My main interest is the show jumping element and I am very keen to re-establish the hugely popular jumping classes that Wrekin North Riding Club was so well known for.
You may even see me competing!

Club Secretary – Julie Whittingham

Hi guys, I’m Julie Whittingham and I am very happy to be the Club Secretary this year. I have ridden at Wrekin North since I was 8, on my pony Misty Morning and then Fire Fly. I have just started back in the last few years with the jumping scene with Mookie, she is better known than me; I call her my cow pony!

Looking forward to this season with you all!

Show jumping Coordinator – Alicia Ball

Hello I’m Alicia Ball and I will be joining the Wrekin North team to help with the building of inviting courses to help both horse and rider progress! I have jumped up to foxhunter level myself so I will be about to give a hand to anyone needing a bit of a lift.

I look forward to meeting everyone and watch you all succeed:)

Tiny Trotters and Fun Classes – Andrea Edge

My name is Andrea Edge and I have been part of Wrekin North Riding Club for 30 years, only having a two year break when I lost my companion. I am a pony Club mum and Hunt with the Albrighton & Woodland. My interest in the club lies with making it fun and enjoyable for all, no matter what age or level of riding you are at. I will aim to encourage the young and nervous rider, making this club a place for people to look forward to coming too and socialising with.

I will host the friendly Tiny Trotter events.

Marketing and Committee Support –Adel Squire

I was born in to a horsey family and have never been without horses in my life.  My 1st membership to Saddlers riding club was 1968, when i was 4.   Since then I have seen my two children through Pony Club, but now my children have left the nest so I’m hoping to share my business, equine and life skills with others through Wrekin North Riding Club

Treasurer -Diane Rohan

I’ve ridden most of my life having been  a member at Wrekin North RC way back in the 1980’s. I have run my own successful business for over 30 years. I have my own horse & still ride for pleasure but nowadays my main focus is my 10 year old daughter and her riding.

We are active pony club members and my aim is to help and encourage our young riders of the future.

Showing Coordinator and Membership Secretary – Claire Goodwin

I was a member of WNRC as a child and have fond memories of show days. I now have a young daughter and a small herd of equines I want to compete locally with.

I want WNRC to be a club where more families will make great memories and lots of friends

Working Hunter Coordinator – Jessica Maddocks

Committee Member – Sally Howse

This image has an empty alt attribute; its file name is Sally-Howse-Picture-1-1024x1024.jpgI’m new to Wrekin North and would be happy to help any other new members in understanding the club. I picked riding back up in my mid twenties after ten years off away studying. I have been loaning my pony Shona for a couple of years and I’m always looking for new challenges to improve my riding and confidence, so I will be looking to encourage more activities for riders like me within the club.
