Hi I’m Amanda. Wife and mother of one, my main job is laboratory chemist and part time first responder.
I have been involved with horses since the age of 10 and enjoy all aspects from endurance to one day events. Many of you will know me as the First Aid lady in the hi-viz jacket who has been at most of the recent Wrekin North Shows ready to care for any mishaps.
I am really looking forward to helping to take the Shows and Events from strength to strength in the upcoming year and I will still be there as the Clubs regular First Responder
Hi guys, I’m Julie Whittingham and I am very happy to be the Club Secretary again this year. I have ridden at Wrekin North since I was 8, on my pony Misty Morning and then Fire Fly. I own Miss Moo and Embla Thornton and my daughter Ella also rides Embla Isabella so we also enjoy the shows and always on the go!. This year I shall again also be Coordinating the Dressage events in addition to my role as Club Secretary and I am looking forward to the 2021 season with you all!
I’ve ridden most of my life having been a member at Wrekin North RC way back in the 1980’s. I have run my own successful business for over 30 years. I have my own horse & still ride for pleasure and this year have enjoyed many of the confidence building Wrekin clinics which are such fun for us Mums. However nowadays my main focus is increasingly my 12 year old daughter and her riding.
We are active pony club members and my aim is to help and encourage our young riders of the future.
I also look after the Points tables, Trophies and web site for the Club in my spare time.
I was a member of WNRC as a child and have fond memories of show days. I now have a young daughter and a small herd of equines I want to compete locally with.
I also coordinate Judges and the Showing Secretary role.
I want WNRC to be a club where more families will make great memories and lots of friends.
I’ve owned and ridden horses for the past 35 years and have been part of local riding clubs, judging and organising events for the past 25 years. I have competed in various equestrian disciplines including dressage, eventing and endurance but show jumping has been my main passion. I really enjoy judging and seeing people progress
My young daughter joined Wrekin North at the beginning of 2019 and she has so enjoyed competing at the show and having a great time with friends that I wanted to be able to join the team to help out, particularly utilising my legal skills in the background. In addition to organising Clinics I have taken over as lead on safeguarding issues.
I have ridden and competed since I was young but enjoy a quieter life hacking my cob mare and looking after my two retired old ladies and my husband’s Shire. I have passed the main riding baton over to my daughter who loves taking part in Pony Club and competing, mostly in jumping on her Bay Unicorn Pony “Jumping Jack Flash”!
Hi I’m Kim, wife (soon to be divorced when he finds out I’ll be getting him Involved too) and mother. I recently joined Wrekin north after my daughter completed her first season of showing and jumping, which she has thoroughly enjoyed.
I really enjoy being part of this fantastic riding club committee and I’m really looking forward to my new role of Show Secretary for 2021.
Hi I’m Josh. I’m very happy to be a part of Wrekin North. I have just turned 17 and I am currently doing my level 2 in equine management at college. I have been riding and have been around horses since the age of 4. Before being asked to be a part of the committee and joining in mid 2020, I have previously entered competitions and clinics at Wrekin north. I am soon going to be getting my own horse so you may even see me riding at some shows, If I’m not riding you’ll find me at the Tiny Trotters ring. I am loving running the Tiny Trotters and Fun Classes, and it’s so rewarding getting to see so many children improving at every show. I’m looking forward to the 2021 show season together.
Hi there! My name is Claire and I joined the Wrekin North Riding Club Committee recently after moving to the area the area approximately 18 months ago. I am and always have been passionate about horses. I started riding when I was about 10 years old (I’m 40 now!) and yes, I’ve definitely had my fair share of “Thrills & Spills”. I have a 19 year old TB mare (who thinks she is still 5 years old) who I do a bit of everything with but our (ok, her!) passion is show-jumping. We are looking forward to getting out and about this season and taking part in the clinics and competitions run by Wrekin North Riding Club with the aim of coming home with some frillies
As the husband of a horsey wife, I got involved many years ago with my wife’s equestrian hobby. I have been involved with various Clubs over the years doing maintenance, stewarding and fence repairs. With all the new fences and equipment I’m looking forward to seeing Wrekin North go from strength to strength in 2021.
I picked riding back up in my mid twenties after ten years off away studying. I’m always looking for new challenges to improve my riding and confidence, so I will be looking to encourage more activities for riders like me within the club.
I’m a wife and busy mum of two where horses are and always have been a huge part of my life. We run a forest school from our home where the horses are used with the children on a daily basis.
I got my first pony aged fourteen and competed regularly at Wrekin North, many many moons ago! However, I now have an extremely horsey daughter and a field full of ponies so my main role is groom and general dogsbody! The plan is to get my daughter a bigger horse that I can borrow so I might find myself brave enough to compete again.
Its great to be part of such a wonderful, friendly riding club that holds so many happy memories for me that I can see is also doing the same for the younger generation of riders.
I’m Alex and have been introduced to WNRC through my children who both compete in the shows.
I have ridden since childhood and used to compete show jumping and taught as a BHS AI before riding professionally on films and TV as well as jousting and trick riding at locations including Warwick castle.
I am a full time Paramedic and on call Fire Fighter.
I look forward to helping the rest of the committee to keep WNRC producing the shows and events we all enjoy so much!
