I’m relatively new to Wrekin North and would be happy to help any other new members in understanding the club. I picked riding back up in my mid twenties after ten years off away studying. I have just bought a new pony called Promise and I’m always looking for new challenges to improve my riding and confidence, so I will be looking to encourage more activities for riders like me within the club.
Hi guys, I’m Julie Whittingham and I am very happy to be the Club Secretary again this year. I have ridden at Wrekin North since I was 8, on my pony Misty Morning and then Fire Fly. I own Miss Moo and Embla Thornton and my daughter Ella also rides Embla Isabella so we also enjoy the shows and always on the go!. I have a passion for everyone enjoying themselves and learning so you will see the Clinics and Events and Dressage popping up all the time J Looking forward to 2020 season with you all!
I’ve owned and ridden horses for the past 35 years and have been part of local riding clubs, judging and organising events for the past 25 years. I have competed in various equestrian disciplines including dressage, eventing and endurance but show jumping has been my main passion. I really enjoy judging and seeing people progress
My young daughter joined Wrekin North at the beginning of 2019 and she has so enjoyed competing at the show and having a great time with friends that I wanted to be able to join the team to help out, particularly utilising my legal skills in the background.
I have ridden and competed since I was young but enjoy a quieter life hacking my cob mare and looking after my two retired old ladies and my husband’s Shire. I have passed the main riding baton over to my daughter who loves taking part in Pony Club and competing, mostly in jumping on her Bay Unicorn Pony “Jumping Jack Flash”!
I am looking forward to Wrekin North’s first Winter Jumping series at Hilton Park Arena and to next years summer season.
I’ve ridden most of my life having been a member at Wrekin North RC way back in the 1980’s. I have run my own successful business for over 30 years. I have my own horse & still ride for pleasure and this year have enjoyed many of the confidence building Wrekin clinics which are such fun for us Mums. However nowadays my main focus is increasingly my 10 year old daughter and her riding.
We are active pony club members and my aim is to help and encourage our young riders of the future.
I was a member of WNRC as a child and have fond memories of show days. I now have a young daughter and a small herd of equines I want to compete locally with.
I want WNRC to be a club where more families will make great memories and lots of friends.
I first competed at Wrekin North Riding Club nearing 30 years ago. Over the years we have found it invaluable in the education of young and green horses, ponies and children! After many successful junior and senior years on the affiliated circuit with the children, it is now time for the grandchildren to take over the reins. So as they learn the ropes in the tiny trotters ring, I am keen to offer support and encouragement and give back to a club that has helped provide a lifetime of fun to us.
Hi there! My name is Claire and I joined the Wrekin North Riding Club Committee recently after moving to the area the area approximately 18 months ago. I am and always have been passionate about horses. I started riding when I was about 10 years old (I’m 40 now!) and yes, I’ve definitely had my fair share of “Thrills & Spills”. I have a 19 year old TB mare (who thinks she is still 5 years old) who I do a bit of everything with but our (ok, her!) passion is show-jumping. We are looking forward to getting out and about this season and taking part in the clinics and competitions run by Wrekin North Riding Club with the aim of coming home with some frillies!
HI. I’m Pete the Photo man. I don’t ride (at the moment) and apart from the last couple seasons I have been the photographer at Wrekin North for more than 20 years. I was first invited to the shows by Club Secretary Julie’s sister Sharon who herself is a former club chairperson. That was back in the days before digital photography or Facebook. Wrekin North is and has always been very close to my heart and I have found many friends at the club. I look forward to working as a committee member to bring this club to new heights. This year I will be organising many of the facilities that we need for the staging of events and sourcing the all important judges.
Hi I’m Amanda. Wife and mother of one, my main job is laboratory chemist and part time first responder.
I have been involved with horses since the age of 10 and enjoy all aspects from endurance to one day events. Many of you will know me as the First Aid lady in the hi-viz jacket who has been at most of the recent Wrekin North Shows ready to care for any mishaps.
I am really looking forward to helping to take the Shows and Events from strength to strength in the upcoming year.
As the husband of a horsey wife, I got involved many years ago with my wife’s equestrian hobby. I have been involved with various Clubs over the years doing maintenance, stewarding and fence repairs. I’m looking forward to seeing Wrekin North go from strength to strength in 2020.
